Goblet with Lid
Bohemia; 1st half 19th c.
The goblet has broad smooth sides with strongly marked edges which, with the added colour of the glazed circles, seem to convey an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. Glazed glass with symbolic figures and inscriptions was often made in Bohemia in the Biedermeier period as can be seen in the holdings of the Prague Museum of Applied Art.
