Ciborium
Italy; 1st half 15th c.
All the parts of the ciborium are hexagonal, which is typical of the Gothic style. The base, the sides and lid are decorated with panels of rock crystal in raised frames in the form of broken arches. Behind the transparent panels are scenes from the lives and martyrdom of the apostles in miniature relief on gold foil.
